Kayla Massey

Kayla Massey, a graduate student at UW-Milwaukee focusing on
photography, came to discuss her undergraduate project My Nurse Today is…. This
incredibly intimate and personal work is about her undergoing cancer treatment
and documenting her physical change throughout the process. She photographed this as a documentary
project but also as a coping mechanism to help herself through her difficult
situation.
She continued on in her talk about her current project and
her various trials, errors, triumphs and
failures that went into creating it. Like
many of the other artist now lecture series, I found her talk illuminating as
to how others go through their own artistic process as well as how she plans on
going on with her art in the future.
